About Tabletopia
Tabletopia recreates a physical game table online. Instead of a fully automated version of each game, you get the board, cards and pieces in 3D and move them yourself, which means it can host a very wide catalog: more than 2,500 board games, including many crowdfunding projects and new releases that publishers put up to let people try them before buying. It runs in the browser and is also available on Steam, where you can connect your existing account. Because rules are mostly not enforced, players need to know the game or learn it together, much like at a real table; the upside is flexibility, house rules and the chance to play titles no automated site has. The free Bronze plan covers most games. Paid Silver and Gold plans, billed monthly, unlock 100+ premium games and extra setups, keep more game rooms open at once, and add video chat, while Gold also lets you invite free players and guests into premium games. Designers can also build and publish their own games with the Workshop tools.
Best for: Groups who want a real-table feel and access to new or crowdfunded games before they ship.
