About Tuple

Tuple is a desktop screen-sharing app made for developers who pair program remotely. Instead of a general meeting tool, it focuses on what pairing needs: sharp, high-resolution screen streams, responsive remote control of the other person's mouse and keyboard, and a single click to swap who is sharing. Calls carry audio and video, and either side can draw or type on the shared screen. Audio, video and screen data are end-to-end encrypted. Power users get keyboard shortcuts for most actions and Triggers, which run your own scripts when calls start, end or people join, for example to add a Git co-author line. The app runs on macOS and Windows, with a Linux build in alpha; guests can join from a browser to watch and talk, but need the app to share or control. Tuple is a paid per-user subscription after a free trial, with discounts for young startups and free licences for significant open-source work. Only one person in a session needs to pay.

Best for: Remote engineering teams that pair program daily and want fast remote control over a plain meeting app.

Pros and cons

What works

  • Remote control feels responsive, with one-click switching of the sharer
  • End-to-end encrypted audio, video and screen sharing
  • Triggers let you script actions around call events
  • Only one participant needs a paid seat; guests join from a browser

Why people leave

  • No free plan, only a 14-day trial before the per-user subscription
  • Linux app is still in alpha
  • Browser guests can watch and talk but can't share or take control
  • Built for small pairing sessions rather than large meetings or webinars
