About Typeface

Typeface is a Mac-only font manager focused on browsing and organising large collections. Its main view is a flexible grid of live previews where you change sample text, size and colours, with a List view for technical metadata when you need to find an exact version. Fonts are organised with nested, combinable tags, a Quick Collection for shortlisting candidates, and synced folders that pick up new fonts automatically, which also lets you share libraries through Dropbox, Google Drive or a network folder. It activates fonts in place, temporarily or automatically when a design document needs them, and includes OpenType feature and variable font controls, Unicode character search, font comparison overlays, a duplicate finder and the Google Fonts catalogue. Typeface is a free download with a trial; Pro features are unlocked by a paid licence rather than a subscription, and it is also sold through the Mac App Store and Setapp. It requires macOS 12 or later.

Best for: Mac designers with big font libraries who want tagging and clean previews.
