About Yahoo Mail
Yahoo Mail is one of the oldest free webmail services and still has a large user base. It offers a web inbox and iOS and Android apps with large free storage, views that pull out photos, documents, receipts, deals and travel, one-click unsubscribe, disposable addresses on paid plans, and the ability to add Gmail, Outlook and AOL accounts to the same app. The free version is supported by ads, which are prominent. Yahoo Mail Plus is a subscription that removes ads and adds features such as more disposable addresses, extra storage and priority support. Its weaknesses are the heavy ad load, a history of large data breaches in the 2010s, and a privacy model built around advertising. Spam filtering and search are adequate but behind Gmail. People mostly keep using it because they have had an address for years; new users who want a free inbox usually choose Gmail, Outlook or a privacy-focused provider.
Best for: Long-time Yahoo users who want to keep their address for free.
