About Zscaler

Zscaler is a cloud security platform used by large enterprises to replace the traditional VPN and on-site firewall stack. Its Zero Trust Exchange routes user traffic through Zscaler's cloud instead of the corporate network. Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) inspects web and SaaS traffic with a secure web gateway, cloud firewall, sandboxing and data loss prevention. Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) connects staff to internal applications one app at a time based on identity and device posture, so users never join the network itself, which is the part that replaces a remote-access VPN. A Client Connector app runs on laptops and phones, and further modules cover branch offices, workloads, digital experience monitoring and data security. Zscaler sells through sales and partners with quote-based pricing and no self-serve plan, and deployments usually involve a project team. It is aimed at large organisations; smaller companies tend to pick simpler zero-trust tools such as Twingate or Tailscale.
