LeetCode vs NeetCode
Updated November 2026 · AppBreakup editorial

LeetCode
Coding interview practice site with thousands of algorithm problems, weekly contests and a paid Premium tier.

NeetCode
Coding interview prep site with a problem roadmap, video explanations and a paid Pro plan.
The short answer
LeetCode is the big problem library and contest platform; NeetCode is a curated roadmap with a video explanation for each problem. Pick NeetCode if you want to know what to study and in what order, and LeetCode if you want the widest set of problems, contests and company tags. Many candidates use both: NeetCode for the plan, LeetCode for volume.
LeetCode or NeetCode: our take
The core difference is breadth versus guidance. LeetCode hosts a large library of data structure and algorithm problems plus SQL and shell questions, each with a browser judge, topic and difficulty tags, community solution threads, and weekly and biweekly contests that give a public rating. What it lacks is structure: beginners get little guidance on where to start. NeetCode grew out of a YouTube channel of problem walkthroughs and is built around that gap. Its Blind 75 and NeetCode 150 lists are laid out as a roadmap from arrays and hashing through graphs and dynamic programming, and each problem links to a video explanation and code. It has its own in-browser editor, but its set of 300+ practice problems is smaller than LeetCode's.
Pricing works differently. Both have free tiers: LeetCode's free account covers most problems, contests and community solutions, while NeetCode's roadmap and many videos are free. LeetCode Premium is a monthly or annual subscription that adds locked questions, official write-ups, company-tagged questions and mock interviews. NeetCode Pro is sold as a one-year pass at $119 or a lifetime purchase at $297 one-time, and adds courses on algorithms and system design, written guides, solutions in 8 languages, company tags and an AI helper for hints.
Platforms differ too. LeetCode runs on the web with iOS and Android apps; NeetCode is web only.
Choose NeetCode if you are starting interview prep and want a sensible order plus a clear explanation for every problem, or if you would rather pay once than subscribe. Choose LeetCode if you already know the patterns and want more problems, timed contests, a rating to track, or company-specific question lists. Because NeetCode's lists largely point at well-known interview problems, using its roadmap while practising on LeetCode is a common and reasonable setup.
Which should you pick?
Choose LeetCode if…
- Developers preparing for algorithm-heavy technical interviews at tech companies
- You need iOS and Android, which NeetCode doesn't list
- Huge problem library with an in-browser judge for many languages
- Free weekly and biweekly contests with a public rating
Choose NeetCode if…
- Interview candidates who want a curated problem order with a video explanation for each
- Roadmap puts interview topics in a sensible learning order
- Clear video explanation for each listed problem
About each app
What is LeetCode?
LeetCode is the site most software engineers end up on when they start preparing for technical interviews. It hosts a large library of data structure and algorithm problems, plus SQL and shell questions, each with a browser code editor that runs your solution against hidden test cases and reports whether it passed. Problems are tagged by topic and difficulty, and community discussion threads collect alternative solutions. Weekly and biweekly contests give a rating that tracks progress over time. The free account covers most problems, contests and community solutions. Premium, sold as a monthly or annual subscription, adds locked questions, official write-ups, filtering by the companies that asked a question, mock interviews and faster judging. It runs on the web with mobile apps for reading and practising. The focus is narrow: it drills interview-style puzzles rather than teaching programming from scratch, so beginners usually pair it with a course.
What is NeetCode?
NeetCode grew out of a popular YouTube channel of interview problem walkthroughs and is now a full prep site. Its best-known parts are curated lists such as the Blind 75 and NeetCode 150, laid out as a roadmap that orders topics from arrays and hashing through graphs and dynamic programming. Each problem links to a video explanation and code. The site has its own in-browser editor for running solutions, and Pro adds courses on algorithms and system design, written guides, more practice problems, solutions in eight languages, company tags and an AI helper for hints and debugging. The roadmap and many videos are free, and Pro is sold as a one-year pass or a one-time lifetime purchase rather than a monthly subscription. It's web-only and aimed squarely at people preparing for software engineering interviews, often alongside LeetCode.
