About Akeyless

Akeyless is a secrets management service for engineering and security teams. It stores static secrets such as API keys and passwords, issues short-lived dynamic credentials for databases and clouds, rotates secrets automatically, and manages SSH and PKI certificates and encryption keys. Applications and pipelines authenticate with cloud IAM roles, Kubernetes service accounts, OIDC, SAML or certificates rather than shared tokens. The main difference from HashiCorp Vault is that Akeyless is delivered as SaaS, so there's no cluster to run. For companies that need more control, a hybrid model places gateways in your own network and uses Akeyless's distributed fragments cryptography for zero-knowledge encryption, so the vendor can't read your secrets. The platform also offers secure remote access with session recording and a password manager for staff. A free tier covers small projects with limits on clients and secrets; enterprise plans are quote-based.
