About Apple Mail

Apple Mail is the email app that ships with every Mac, iPhone and iPad. It handles iCloud Mail, Gmail, Exchange and any standard IMAP account in one unified inbox, and it ties into Apple's system features: Siri suggestions, Spotlight search, Focus filters, Hide My Email aliases with iCloud+, and Mail Privacy Protection, which hides your IP address and loads remote content privately. Recent versions add automatic categories for primary, transactional and promotional mail, scheduled sending, reminders to follow up and sender blocking. It costs nothing beyond the Apple device. Its limits are the flip side of that simplicity: there is no Windows, Android or web version (iCloud Mail on the web is separate and basic), rules and filtering are weaker than in power-user clients, and Gmail labels map awkwardly to folders. For people who live entirely on Apple devices and want something that just works, it is often enough.

Best for: Apple device owners who want a free, built-in client for all their accounts.
