About Mimestream

Mimestream is a Mac email client made only for Gmail and Google Workspace. Instead of IMAP it uses the Gmail API, so labels, categories, filters, aliases, vacation responses and signatures behave exactly as they do in Gmail's web interface, and syncing is fast. It is a native Swift app with a Mac look, keyboard shortcuts, multiple accounts, profiles to separate work and personal mail, and support for Google Calendar invitations. An iPhone and iPad version is in beta. There is no free tier after the trial: it is a subscription, billed monthly or yearly, with family sharing included and group billing for teams. The obvious limit is scope. If you have an iCloud, Outlook or Fastmail account, Mimestream cannot read it, and there are no Windows or Android apps. For Mac users who live in Gmail and dislike the browser tab, it is one of the best options.

Best for: Mac users whose email is entirely on Gmail or Google Workspace.
