About Audius

Audius is a music streaming platform built on a decentralised protocol rather than a single company's servers. Artists, producers and labels can upload tracks for free, keep control of their catalogue, and reach listeners directly, while fans stream without paying, with no ads in the core experience. It has been especially popular with electronic music producers and independent artists, and features such as exclusive and gated tracks, remix contests and tipping let fans support creators. The underlying Open Audio Protocol and its token are now stewarded by the non-profit Open Audio Foundation, and the apps' source code is open under the Apache 2.0 licence. The crypto and token side of the project will put some people off, and like other open-upload platforms its catalogue is mostly independent music, with little from major labels. It runs on the web, iOS and Android, with a desktop app.

Best for: Independent and electronic artists, and fans who want free streaming of their uploads.
