About Strawberry
Strawberry is a free, open-source music player and library organiser for people with large collections of local files. It began as a fork of Clementine, itself based on Amarok, and keeps that familiar layout while modernising the code and adding features. It handles playlists and smart playlists, tag editing, automatic tags from MusicBrainz, album art from several sources, lyrics, an equaliser and analyser, and scrobbling to Last.fm and ListenBrainz. Audiophiles like its advanced output options, including bit-perfect playback on Linux, and it can stream from Subsonic-compatible servers such as Navidrome and play internet radio. It is written in C++ with Qt and GStreamer and released under the GPL. Linux packages are freely available, while some prebuilt installers for other platforms are tied to sponsoring the project. Audio CD and device support is missing on Windows, and the interface looks traditional rather than modern. It runs on Linux, Windows and macOS.
Best for: Linux users and collectors who want a capable open-source library manager.
