About Backendless

Backendless is a long-running backend-as-a-service that has grown into a visual app development platform. It provides a database with a visual schema editor, user management, file storage, realtime messaging, push notifications and cloud code, which can be written in JavaScript or assembled with its block-based Codeless logic. A UI Builder lets you create the frontend in the same place, and the backend is frequently used behind no-code frontends such as FlutterFlow, Bubble and Adalo. Backendless Cloud is the managed version and starts with a free plan, with paid tiers and add-on packs as usage grows. Backendless Pro is the self-installed edition that companies can run on their own infrastructure, which the company advertises with free licensing. It suits teams that want visual tools rather than writing every endpoint, though the interface is dense and its community is much smaller than those of Firebase or Supabase.
