About Bandizip

Bandizip is a file archiver from Bandisoft, the Korean company behind Honeyview and BandiView. The Windows app compresses to ZIP, 7z, ZIPX, TAR, ISO and a few other formats and extracts more than 40, including RAR and RAR5. It uses several processor cores to speed up compression, splits large archives into parts for email limits, protects archives with AES-256 encryption, and lets you open an archive, look inside and edit files in it without extracting everything first. The standard edition is free, including in companies, and is supported by advertising. A paid Professional edition removes the ads and adds a password manager, repair for damaged ZIP files, brute-force password recovery, image thumbnails inside archives and malware scanning. There is a separate macOS version. It is closed source, and the ads in the free edition put off people used to 7-Zip.

Best for: Windows users who want a polished archiver that can preview and edit archives in place.
