About NanaZip
NanaZip is a free, open-source file archiver for Windows from M2-Team, built on the 7-Zip codebase and its 7z engine. It keeps 7-Zip's formats and strong compression but updates the shell around them: it appears directly in the Windows 11 right-click menu instead of under "Show more options", follows dark mode, and is packaged as an MSIX app distributed through the Microsoft Store and GitHub. It also bundles extra codecs that upstream 7-Zip lacks, such as Zstandard, Brotli and LZ4, so it can open and create archives used by Linux tools and game modding communities. There are no ads and no paid tier. It runs only on Windows 10 and 11, so Mac and Linux users need another tool, and because it follows 7-Zip's code it keeps the same plain file manager and still can't create RAR archives.
Best for: Windows 11 users who like 7-Zip but want it in the modern context menu.
