About Bluebeam Revu
Bluebeam Revu, owned by Nemetschek, is a PDF tool built specifically for drawings and construction documents. Architects, engineers and contractors use it to mark up plan sets with customisable tool chests, measure lengths, areas and counts directly on drawings for quantity takeoffs, compare revisions, manage sheets and hyperlinks across large sets, and review together in real time through Bluebeam Studio sessions. Recent releases add web and mobile access and AI features through Bluebeam Max. Plans are sold per user on annual subscriptions, with Basics, Core and Complete tiers that add measurement, batch tools and advanced features; all include the Windows desktop app plus web and mobile access. The desktop application remains Windows only, and its depth makes it overkill and expensive for general office PDF work. Within construction, though, it is close to an industry standard, and shared markup libraries and Studio sessions are a big reason firms stay with it.
Best for: Architecture, engineering and construction teams marking up and measuring drawings.
