About Praktika

Praktika teaches mainly through talking with animated AI tutors. You pick a tutor persona, follow lessons and topics tailored to your goals and level, and get feedback on pronunciation, grammar and word choice after each exchange, with the option to start a free conversation on any topic. It began as an English-speaking app and has added other languages. The company pitches it as a far cheaper alternative to a private human tutor, and its large user base comes largely from mobile app stores. Subscriptions unlock unlimited practice, with limited free access. As with any AI tutor, explanations are sometimes wrong or mix accents, and it doesn't replace reading, structured grammar study or real human conversation. It runs on iOS and Android. Praktika suits learners, especially of English, who want plenty of judgement-free speaking practice on their phone.

Best for: English learners who want cheap, judgement-free speaking practice with AI tutors.
