About Capacities
Capacities is a personal knowledge app built around objects rather than folders. Instead of filing a note somewhere, you create a Book, Person, Meeting or Project, and each type gets its own properties and views, with links and backlinks tying them together into a network. Daily notes act as the inbox, and you can create your own object types as you go. The free Basic plan is the full note-taking app with offline support, full-text search and export, plus a cap on media uploads. Pro adds an AI assistant, tasks, smart queries, a public API and unlimited uploads, and a Believer tier gets early features. It runs on the web, Mac, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android, and data is hosted in Europe. The trade-offs are that it is cloud-based rather than local files, collaboration is limited, and the object model takes a little getting used to. It suits individuals building a long-term personal knowledge base.
Best for: Individuals who want a structured personal knowledge base without building it from scratch.
