About Clipdrop
Clipdrop is a set of single-purpose AI image tools: remove a background, erase objects or people, remove text, upscale, relight a scene, replace a background, extend a picture with uncrop and generate images from text. It was built by the French startup InitML, bought by Stability AI in 2023 and sold to Jasper, the AI marketing company, in 2024. Each tool runs in the browser with a free daily quota, and a Pro subscription raises limits, skips queues and allows high-resolution output. The same features are sold to developers as usage-based APIs. The company says its terms don't restrict commercial use of generated images. It suits marketers and online sellers who need fast product-photo clean-up and occasional generation, rather than people looking for a full art tool with the latest models.
