About Deskreen
Deskreen is a desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux that streams your screen to any device with a web browser over Wi-Fi, using WebRTC. You open a link or scan a QR code on the phone, tablet or old laptop and it shows your whole screen or a single app window. With a virtual display adapter (a cheap HDMI dummy plug) it can act as a true extended second monitor. It can connect many devices at once, adjusts video quality on the fly, encrypts streams end to end, and has a flip mode for using a tablet as a teleprompter. It also works on a local network with no internet. The Community Edition is free and AGPL-3.0 licensed; the developer is preparing a paid Pro version. It is view-only from the second device's side for most uses, so it suits presenting and extra screens more than drawing.
Best for: Anyone who wants to reuse an old tablet or phone as an extra screen for free.
