About Duet

Duet, often called Duet Display, started as an app for using an iPad as an extra monitor for a Mac or PC and has grown into a multi-device toolkit. You can extend or mirror your desktop to an iPad, iPhone, Android tablet or another computer, use a tablet as a drawing tablet, share one keyboard and mouse across two computers, and cast an iPhone or iPad onto your desktop. Its remote desktop feature lets you reach your Mac or PC from another device over the internet, with end-to-end encryption and a privacy mode. Desktop apps run on macOS and Windows, with companion apps for iOS and Android. It is a paid product sold as subscriptions, with different features in different plans, and the company also sells IT remote-support tools. Apple users who only need an iPad screen may find the built-in Sidecar enough; Duet's draw is that it mixes platforms, such as an Android tablet as a screen for a Windows PC.

Best for: People who want a tablet or spare laptop as a second screen across Mac, Windows, iOS and Android.
