About spacedesk

spacedesk, from the German company datronicsoft, installs a display driver on a Windows 10 or 11 PC so other devices show up as real extra monitors. The viewer apps run on Android, iOS, Amazon Fire tablets and Windows, and there is also an HTML5 viewer for any browser. You connect over USB, Wi-Fi or a LAN cable, then extend or mirror the desktop, and touch, pen, keyboard and mouse input on the second device can control the PC. It can also send audio to the viewer and drive several screens at once as a video wall for signage. The viewer is free under a non-commercial private licence; businesses buy a commercial licence through the app stores, and the free driver version expires and must be updated periodically. It suits Windows users who want a free way to turn a spare tablet into a second monitor.

Best for: Windows users who want a free extended display on a spare tablet or phone.
