About Documenso

Documenso is an open-source e-signature platform that set out to be a transparent alternative to Docusign. You upload a PDF, place fields, send it to recipients and get a signed document sealed with a digital certificate, along with an audit log. It offers templates, direct signing links, teams, webhooks and a public API, and supports embedding the signing flow in your own product. You can self-host the open-source code for free, or use the hosted version, which has a free plan with a monthly document limit, an individual plan for unlimited signing, and team and platform plans for companies and developers building on it. Enterprise licences add features such as SSO for self-hosted setups. The project is backed by an active community and moves quickly. Compared with established services it has fewer advanced workflow options like conditional routing or bulk sending at every tier, but for teams that care about open code and data control it is a credible choice.

Best for: Teams who want open-source signing they can audit, host themselves or embed.
