About DocuSeal

DocuSeal is an open-source e-signature app for creating fillable PDF templates, sending them to one or several signers and storing completed, legally binding documents with an audit log. Its form builder supports many field types including signatures, initials, dates, files and payments, and it works well on phones for signers. Developers like it for its API, webhooks and embeddable signing components for React, Vue and plain JavaScript, which make it easy to add signing to their own products. You can deploy the open-source edition on your own server with Docker for free, with unlimited documents and your own email server. The hosted cloud has a free Basic tier with a monthly limit on request emails, and a Pro plan per user that adds branding, bulk sending, SMS verification and more; Pro features can also be licensed for self-hosted installs. It is younger and less well known to signers than Docusign, and the open-source edition leaves out some Pro features.

Best for: Developers and privacy-minded teams who want signing on their own servers or in their app.
