About Drops
Drops teaches vocabulary through fast, illustrated games: you swipe and tap to match words with pictures, hear native pronunciation and spell words, all within short timed sessions that make it easy to fit practice into a busy day. It covers more than 55 languages, including less common ones, and has added grammar lessons, a visual dictionary and a multiplayer mode, with a separate Droplets app for children. The free version limits daily practice time; Premium removes the limit. Drops was bought by Kahoot!, the game-based learning company, in 2020. It is a vocabulary tool rather than a full course: you won't learn to build sentences or hold conversations from Drops alone, so it pairs best with a structured app, a tutor or reading. It runs on iOS, Android and the web.
Best for: Busy learners who want quick visual vocabulary practice in many languages.
