About Elcomsoft Distributed Password Recovery
Elcomsoft Distributed Password Recovery is a commercial tool from Elcomsoft for recovering passwords to documents, disks and accounts on a network of computers. A central server splits each job across agents on the LAN, over the internet or on Amazon EC2 and Microsoft Azure instances, and Elcomsoft says it scales linearly to as many as 10,000 workstations. Agents use NVIDIA, AMD and Intel GPUs, and different cards can be mixed in one machine. It supports more than 300 formats, including Microsoft Office, PDF, ZIP, RAR and 7-Zip archives, BitLocker, FileVault 2, LUKS and VeraCrypt volumes, password manager databases, Windows and UNIX logins, and raw MD5 and SHA hashes. A bundled hash extractor pulls only the encryption metadata from files, so sensitive content never has to be sent to agents. It runs on Windows and is licensed by the number of agents. It's aimed at forensic labs, law enforcement and corporate security teams with authorisation to recover the data.
Best for: Forensic and corporate security labs that need to pool many GPUs for one recovery job.
