About Epicurious

Epicurious is a recipe website and mobile app run by Condé Nast, the publisher of Bon Appétit. Online since 1995, it holds a large archive of recipes drawn from Bon Appétit, the former Gourmet magazine and its own test kitchen, plus cooking guides, kitchen-gear reviews and holiday menus. Recipes carry reader ratings and reviews, which helps when choosing between several versions of the same dish, and you can save favourites to an account. It fits home cooks who want reliable, edited recipes from a long-running food brand rather than user-submitted ones. Much of the site can be browsed for free, but Condé Nast puts some content behind a paid subscription, and the free pages carry plenty of advertising. The site works in any browser, and there are Epicurious apps for iPhone and Android. Readers who already use Bon Appétit may find the two brands overlap, since many recipes appear on both.

Best for: Home cooks who want a deep archive of edited, rated magazine recipes.
