About Fooocus
Fooocus is a free, open-source image generator from lllyasviel, the developer behind ControlNet, designed to feel closer to Midjourney than to a technical toolkit. You type a prompt and it handles the rest: prompt expansion, sampler choice and quality settings are tuned for SDXL models out of the box, with optional styles, image prompts, inpainting, outpainting and upscaling in an advanced panel. Installation is close to download-and-run on Windows, with instructions for Linux and macOS. It is GPL-licensed and runs fully offline on your GPU. The project is in limited long-term support, receiving occasional fixes rather than new features, and it focuses on SDXL, so it lacks native support for newer model families like FLUX. It suits beginners with a decent GPU who want good local results without learning ComfyUI.
Best for: Beginners with a decent GPU who want simple, good-looking local SDXL results.
