About ForkLift

ForkLift, made by BinaryNights, is a two-pane file manager for the Mac that doubles as a file transfer client. Alongside local folders it connects to SFTP, FTP, WebDAV, SMB, NFS and AFP servers and to cloud storage such as Amazon S3, Backblaze B2, Google Drive, OneDrive and Dropbox, and you can drag files between two remote servers directly. It can compare and sync folders one or two ways and save those syncs as favourites. Other tools include multi-rename presets, a preview panel that plays media and edits text in place, archive browsing, tabs and saved workspaces, Git status with basic commit and push, an app uninstaller, and the option to make it the default file viewer instead of Finder. It is aimed at developers, designers and anyone moving files to servers often. ForkLift is commercial software sold as a licence after a free trial, and needs a recent version of macOS.

Best for: Mac users who move files between local disks, servers and cloud storage every day.
