About GOG Galaxy

GOG Galaxy is the free launcher from GOG, the store known for selling DRM-free PC games. Its first job is managing GOG purchases: installing and updating them, syncing cloud saves, and rolling a game back to an earlier version if a patch breaks it. Because GOG games are DRM-free, the client is optional; you can also download offline installers from the website and keep them. Galaxy 2.0 doubles as a combined library: through official and community-built integrations it can import games, play time and achievements from Steam, Epic, Xbox, PlayStation and other platforms into one view, with a friends list that spans them. You still need the other launchers installed to actually run their games. It runs on Windows and macOS only, with no Linux version, which is why Linux players tend to use Heroic or Lutris for their GOG games.

Best for: PC gamers who buy DRM-free games and want one library view across stores.
