About Hex

Hex is a data workspace for analytics teams. You build a project in a notebook made of SQL, Python, chart and input cells, then publish it as an interactive app that colleagues can use without touching code. It connects to warehouses such as Snowflake and BigQuery, supports semantic models so business users can explore governed metrics, and includes an AI agent that writes queries and builds analyses. Teams can schedule runs, integrate with dbt, Airflow and Dagster, and control who can edit or view data. The free Community plan covers small personal projects with modest compute; paid plans are priced per editor and add more AI usage, version history and bigger machines, with pay-as-you-go compute for heavy jobs and GPUs. Students and educators can get the Professional plan free. It runs in the browser.

Best for: Analytics teams on a cloud warehouse who want notebooks that become shareable data apps.
