About httpYac

httpYac lets you write API requests in plain .http or .rest files, the same simple format used by the VS Code REST Client and JetBrains HTTP Client, and run them from VS Code or the command line. On top of plain HTTP it supports GraphQL, gRPC, WebSocket, Server-Sent Events, MQTT and AMQP, with environments, variables, request chaining, JavaScript scripting and hooks, assertions for tests, and OAuth2 and other authentication helpers. Because everything is text, requests live in your repository next to the code they test, and the CLI can run the same files in CI pipelines. It is free and open source under the MIT licence, maintained by Andreas Weber. The trade-offs are that you work in an editor rather than a form-based interface, documentation assumes some technical comfort, and it depends on a single maintainer. It suits developers who already like .http files and want more protocols and scripting.

Best for: Developers who keep requests as .http files and want scripting and more protocols.
