About indiPDF

indiPDF is a desktop PDF editor from Indomitus Group, a small company in Kentucky, built for people on Linux who want an Acrobat-style editor without a subscription or cloud uploads. It covers annotation and markup, editing existing text, filling and calculating forms, signatures and stamps, and page work such as reordering, rotating, cropping, merging and splitting. It also includes OCR powered by Tesseract with bundled languages, direct scanning from flatbed and feeder scanners, Ghostscript-based compression, PDF/A export and AES-256 encryption. Annotations are saved as standard PDF objects so they show up in other readers. Everything runs locally. The software is closed source and sold as a lifetime licence with free updates within a major version; the unlicensed download is fully functional but watermarks saved files. It runs on Linux (Flathub, AppImage, DEB and RPM) and Windows 10 and 11, with no macOS or mobile versions. It is a new, small-vendor product, so it has a much shorter track record than Master PDF Editor or Acrobat.

Best for: Linux users who want a full PDF editor with OCR for a one-time price and no cloud.
