About Kagi

Kagi is a subscription search engine with no ads and no tracking, funded entirely by its users. Because nobody is paying to be in front of you, it can let you shape results: block sites you never want to see, raise ones you trust, use Lenses to search only forums or academic sources, and hide AI-generated slop. It mixes results from its own small-web index with major providers, and adds Kagi Assistant, a chat interface to many large language models, on higher plans. There is a free trial capped at 100 searches; paid plans range from a limited Starter tier to unlimited Professional and an Ultimate plan with premium AI models, plus family and team plans. Kagi also makes the Orion browser for macOS and iOS. It runs in any browser. The main barrier is simply paying for something most people get free, and its index is not as deep as Google's for local results.

Best for: Heavy searchers willing to pay for ad-free, customisable results.
