About Komga
Komga is a self-hosted server for comics, manga, bandes dessinées, magazines and ebooks. You organise CBZ, CBR, PDF and EPUB files into libraries, collections and reading lists, edit series and book metadata, and read through its built-in web reader or any OPDS-compatible app. It also offers a REST API, Kobo Sync to send books to Kobo e-readers, KOReader Sync, and an extension for the Mihon manga app on Android, which makes it popular with manga readers. It runs anywhere Java or Docker runs, including Windows, macOS, Linux and NAS systems such as Synology and QNAP. Komga is free under the MIT licence and maintained mostly by one developer. Its ebook reading is simpler than dedicated EPUB tools, and the interface is functional rather than flashy. User management is basic compared with full media servers.
Best for: Comic and manga collectors who want a well-organised library with e-reader sync.
