About Navidrome
Navidrome is a self-hosted music server that makes your own collection available through a modern web player and the large ecosystem of Subsonic-compatible apps on iOS, Android and desktop. Written in Go, it is fast and light enough to run on a Raspberry Pi, yet handles very large libraries, and it transcodes on the fly to save mobile data. It supports multiple users, multiple libraries with per-user access, smart playlists, scrobbling and the OpenSubsonic API extensions. It installs on Windows, macOS, Linux, FreeBSD or Docker, and it is free and open source under the GPL v3. Navidrome is music only: it does not handle video, and it relies on your files' tags, so a messy library needs cleaning first. There is no official mobile app; you pick from third-party Subsonic clients, which vary in quality.
Best for: Music collectors who want a fast, light Spotify-style server for their own files.
