About Kutt
Kutt is an open-source URL shortener with a clean, modern interface. You can use the project's free hosted instance at kutt.to or run your own copy from the GitHub repository, with official Docker images and compose setups for SQLite, Postgres or MariaDB. It supports custom domains, which you can add for free, custom slugs, password-protected and expiring links, link descriptions and private statistics for each link. A RESTful API lets you create, delete and fetch links from other tools, and there are browser extensions for Chrome and Firefox. The project is released under the MIT licence and maintained by a small volunteer team. It is free to use; self-hosting only costs your server. Kutt suits developers and teams who want a nicer interface than older self-hosted scripts without paying for a commercial service. Note that the old kutt.it domain is not run by the project. Team features, QR codes and marketing analytics are thinner than on commercial platforms, and there is no support guarantee.
Best for: Developers who want a modern, self-hostable shortener with custom domains and an API.
