About MuleSoft Anypoint Platform

MuleSoft's Anypoint Platform is an enterprise integration and API management suite, owned by Salesforce since 2018. Developers build integrations as Mule applications in Anypoint Code Builder or Anypoint Studio, using connectors, the DataWeave transformation language and an XML-based configuration, and deploy them on MuleSoft's cloud, on customer-managed infrastructure or on-premises. It is designed around an 'API-led' approach in which reusable system, process and experience APIs are published to an internal Exchange catalogue and governed centrally with API Manager, gateways and monitoring. Newer additions include AI and MCP gateways and a no-code Composer tool for Salesforce admins. It is a common choice in large enterprises, especially Salesforce customers, with complex system landscapes and dedicated integration teams. The trade-offs are cost, which is quote-based and among the highest in the category, and a learning curve that usually means certified developers. There is a free trial. Building happens in desktop IDEs and the browser.

Best for: Large enterprises with dedicated integration teams, especially Salesforce customers.
