About Netron
Netron opens a trained model file and shows its layers, operators and tensors as a graph you can zoom, search and click into to see weights, shapes and attributes. It reads a long list of formats, including ONNX, TensorFlow Lite, PyTorch and TorchScript, Keras, Core ML, OpenVINO, Darknet and Safetensors, with experimental support for GGUF, MLIR and others. That makes it a quick way to check what is inside a model you downloaded, confirm input and output names before deployment, or compare a converted model with the original. It runs as a desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux, as a Python package, and in the browser, where files are opened locally. It is free and MIT-licensed, maintained largely by one developer. It only views models: there is no training-metrics dashboard, profiling or editing.
Best for: ML engineers who need to quickly inspect the structure of a model file in almost any format.
Pros and cons
What works
- Reads a very wide range of model formats
- Runs in the browser with no install, or as a desktop app
- Free and MIT-licensed
Why people leave
- Viewer only: no editing, profiling or training metrics
- Very large graphs can be slow and hard to navigate without layer grouping
