About Norton Family
Norton Family is a parental control subscription from Gen Digital, the company behind Norton antivirus. Parents install the Norton Family app on a child's Windows PC, iPhone, iPad or Android device, then manage rules from the parent app or the web portal at my.norton.com. It covers the usual ground: web filtering with site blocking, app supervision, daily time limits and schedules, a School Time mode that allows only the sites a school needs, and location tracking with a 30-day history and geofence alerts. Parents can also see their child's search terms and the YouTube videos they watch, though on phones that only works inside Norton's own in-app browser, and video supervision ignores the YouTube app. It is sold on its own after a 30-day trial and is also bundled with some Norton 360 plans, which makes it attractive to families already paying for Norton security. Macs are not supported as child devices, and not every feature works on every platform, so families with mixed hardware should check the system requirements first.
