About O2

O2 is a major UK mobile network, part of the Virgin Media O2 joint venture. It sells pay monthly phones on O2 Refresh plans, which split the phone and airtime so you can upgrade or pay off the device at any time, along with SIM-only contracts, rolling plans without a contract and pay as you go Big Bundles. Its best-known perk is Priority, a free rewards app for O2 mobile and Virgin Media broadband customers with weekly treats, discounts and 48-hour ticket presales for gigs and events, plus fast-track entry at O2 venues. O2 doesn't charge extra for roaming in the EU up to a 25GB fair-use limit, offers data rollover and Multisave discounts for extra lines, and the My O2 app handles bills and allowances. It suits music and event fans and families who also have Virgin Media broadband. Like its rivals, its contract prices rise by a fixed amount each April.

Best for: UK users who go to gigs and events and want Priority presales, or households already on Virgin Media.
