About Organic Maps

Organic Maps is an offline map app for Android and iPhone, with a Linux desktop beta. You download countries or regions in advance, and from then on everything works without a connection: search, turn-by-turn navigation for driving, cycling and walking, contour lines, elevation profiles, hiking trails and metro maps. Data comes from OpenStreetMap, so footpaths and trails missing from commercial maps often show up, and you can correct the map yourself. It was started by people who built the original Maps.me and is now an open-source community project under the Apache licence. There are no ads, no trackers, no account and no data collection, and the app is funded by donations and grants. It also supports CarPlay and Android Auto. It has no live traffic, and business information and reviews are much thinner than in Google Maps.

Best for: Travellers and hikers who want reliable offline maps without ads or tracking.
