About Paperspace

Paperspace is a GPU cloud aimed at machine learning and graphics work, and it now operates as part of DigitalOcean. It has two sides. Gradient is the ML platform: hosted Jupyter notebooks (with some free GPU instances), training machines and model deployments as API endpoints. Core offers full GPU virtual machines and cloud desktops for 3D work, rendering, virtual desktop infrastructure and gaming, reachable through a browser or a desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux. Pricing combines a monthly plan, which sets storage, project privacy and which machine types you can use, with per-use compute billing. A free plan gives public notebooks with a 12-hour auto-shutdown. It suits students and individual researchers who want quick notebook access to GPUs, and small teams who want simple GPU machines without a hyperscaler console. Newer GPU products are increasingly offered under the DigitalOcean brand, so check there for current options.

Best for: Students and small ML teams who want GPU notebooks and machines without a hyperscaler setup.
