About Pinta
Pinta is an open-source program for drawing and basic image editing, originally modelled on Paint.NET and built so that similar functionality would be available on Linux and other systems. It offers layers, unlimited undo history, a set of adjustments and effects, and the usual selection, paint, shape and text tools in a clean single-window interface. It is a sensible choice for annotating screenshots, cropping and resizing, simple touch-ups and quick drawings, especially on Linux, where it is available from most distribution repositories and Flathub. It does not try to compete with GIMP or Photoshop: there is no RAW support, no non-destructive adjustment layers and only limited file format support for layered documents. Pinta is free and released under the MIT licence, and runs on Linux, Windows, macOS and BSD.
Best for: Linux users who want a lightweight Paint.NET-style editor for quick edits.
