About Splitwise
Splitwise keeps a running tally of who paid for what in a group and who owes whom, so housemates, travel groups and couples don't have to do the maths themselves. You add an expense, choose who shares it and how (equally, by percentage, by shares or exact amounts), and the app calculates balances and simplifies debts so the group settles with fewer payments. Recording a payback, whether cash or a bank transfer, clears the balance. The free version covers groups, recurring expenses, 100+ currencies and offline use, but limits how many expenses you can add per day and shows ads. Splitwise Pro, a paid subscription, removes the limits and ads and adds receipt scanning with itemisation, currency conversion, charts, search and card transaction import in the US. It runs on iOS, Android and the web, and has a public API.
