About Swing Music

Swing Music is a self-hosted music streaming server and player for your own audio files, pitched as a Spotify-like experience where you bring the music. Its emphasis is on design: a clean, modern web interface with album and artist pages, lyrics, favourites and collections, plus fuzzy search that copes with typos and duplicate detection. A folder browser lets you navigate by directory structure for people who organise music in folders rather than tags. It tracks listening history and stats, and a Pro tier adds recommendations and mixes based on your listening. It installs on Linux and macOS with a setup script or runs in Docker. The core is open source under the AGPL v3. It is a younger project than Navidrome, so expect a smaller community, no Subsonic API support for third-party apps, and features still taking shape.

Best for: People who want a good-looking personal Spotify-style player for their own files.
