About Termora

Termora is a cross-platform terminal and SSH client in the same vein as Termius, electerm or MobaXterm. Alongside a local shell it connects to remote servers over SSH, opens serial ports, and includes an SFTP file browser plus Zmodem transfers. Power-user features include port forwarding and jump hosts, X11 forwarding and SSH-Agent support, a key manager, session logging, keyword highlighting, recorded macros and broadcasting a command to several sessions at once. Settings can be synced between machines through a GitHub Gist or a WebDAV server instead of a vendor cloud. It is written in Kotlin on the JVM and runs on Windows, macOS and Linux, installable from GitHub releases, Homebrew or WinGet. The code is published under a dual licence: AGPL-3.0 for open use, or a commercial licence for closed-source use. The app itself is free to download. The developers say mobile versions are a long-term goal, but today it is desktop only, and the version-2 line was still in beta in late 2026.

Best for: Admins who want a free, Termius-style SSH and SFTP client without a cloud account.

Pros and cons

What works

  • SSH, local shell, serial ports, SFTP and Zmodem in one app
  • Port forwarding, jump hosts, X11 and SSH-Agent support
  • Syncs settings through your own Gist or WebDAV server
  • Free and open source on Windows, macOS and Linux

Why people leave

  • No mobile apps yet, unlike Termius
  • Java-based app, so heavier than native terminals
  • Small project with documentation partly aimed at Chinese-speaking users
