About Tolgee
Tolgee is an open-source localization platform built around in-context translation: with its JavaScript SDK installed, you can hold a key and click any text in your running web app to edit its translation right there, and the platform can capture screenshots automatically so translators see where strings appear. It also has the usual translation management features, including translation memory, machine and AI translation, a CLI, a REST API, and integrations with React, Angular, Vue, Svelte and mobile frameworks. You can use Tolgee Cloud, which has a free tier and paid plans with unlimited seats and projects, or self-host it, with a free self-hosted edition and paid enterprise features. The licence mixes an open-source core with separately licensed enterprise code. It is younger and smaller than Crowdin or Lokalise, with fewer integrations for marketing content and a smaller community.
Best for: Web developers who want in-context translation and the option to self-host.
