About Weblate

Weblate is a free and open-source localization platform that works directly with version control. You point it at a Git repository, it reads translation files in dozens of formats, and translators work in a web editor with suggestions, glossaries, translation memory, machine translation and quality checks; changes are committed back to the repository automatically. Many open-source projects run their translations on Weblate, often on the hosted service, which is free for libre projects. Companies can self-host it at no cost under the GPL, buy support for their own installation, or pay for hosted plans priced by the number of strings, with unlimited languages and projects. It is respected for being privacy-respecting and developer-friendly. The interface is functional rather than slick, setting up a self-hosted instance takes sysadmin work, and it has fewer marketing-team integrations than commercial platforms.

Best for: Open-source projects and developer teams that want Git-native, self-hostable localization.
