About Amazon Music

Amazon Music comes in several layers, which is both its strength and its main source of confusion. There is a free ad-supported tier with no credit card needed, Amazon Music Prime included with an Amazon Prime membership, which gives access to the full catalogue but mostly in shuffle mode with limited on-demand plays, and Amazon Music Unlimited, a separate subscription with full on-demand access, offline listening and HD and Ultra HD lossless audio plus Dolby Atmos tracks at no extra charge. Prime members get a discount on Unlimited, and in some countries Unlimited also includes a monthly Audible audiobook. It is tightly integrated with Alexa and Echo speakers, so voice control is a big part of its appeal. Podcasts are included as well. Recommendations and playlist curation are generally rated below Spotify's, and the app has been redesigned several times. It runs on the web, iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, Echo devices and Fire TV.

Best for: Amazon Prime members and Alexa users who want music bundled with services they already use.
