About Apple Passwords

Passwords is the standalone app Apple introduced with iOS 18 and macOS Sequoia to manage what used to live in iCloud Keychain settings. It stores website and app passwords, passkeys, Wi-Fi passwords and verification codes, warns about reused, weak or leaked passwords, and lets you share selected credentials with family or friends through Shared Groups. Sync runs through iCloud Keychain with end-to-end encryption, and autofill works across Safari and apps on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Vision Pro and Apple Watch. On Windows, iCloud for Windows provides an iCloud Passwords app and extensions for Chrome, Edge and Firefox, but there is no Android app. It is free for anyone with an Apple Account. It suits people who live mainly in Apple's ecosystem and want a capable manager with nothing extra to install.

Best for: People who mainly use Apple devices and want a free manager built into the system.
